Simply stated, J & D Custom Cycles is not like
any other motorcycle repair shop. It is not one of those corporate
mandated, spit-shined, sterile grey-painted shop floor maintenance
palaces, whose two main functions are to put on a good show and to
relieve the customer of as much money as possible for the least amount
of work.
At J & D Custom Cycles we have no service
desk, much less one staffed with eager service managers with clipboards
all looking to make their quota for the day by raking in as much of
your hard-earned money as possible.
There are no high-priced promises at J &
D Custom Cycles, just good, clean, honest, work delivered at a fair
price. Performed not by dress-alike mechanics that are so stupid they
need their name on their shirt to know who they are, but rather, by
mechanics that also ride and know how to fix motorcycles, and who
don't mind putting forth the effort to do the job right the first
time.
J & D Custom Cycles was founded in 1976
by Jimmy Davis, who, after having ridden for many years had grown
tired of the increasingly heavy load of bullshit being dished out
by the cycle repair shops around town. So he decided that something
had to be done for the common motorcyclist who just wanted good service
at a fair price without the pretense, grey floors, service mangers
and sterile atmosphere.
With very little money and a mountain of enthusiasm,
Jimmy launched J & D Custom Cycles from the best place he could
think of ... his own back yard!!
For over three decades the business has continued
to maintain a loyal following with folks who have come to know that
J&D Custom Cycles is synonymous with good, honest, dependable and
friendly service.
In 2003, Jimmy Davis decided it was time to
pass the torch and take life a little easier for awhile. He sold J&D
Custom Cycles to Jimmy Winters, his partner and protege who also just
happened to be his Son-In_Law. A pretty sweet deal actually, now Jimmy
gets to hang around the shop a lot and nobody says anything.
Jimmy Winters has been working on motorcycles
more than 20 years himself. If you talk to him for for about three
minutes you know he is passionate about motorcycles. If you watch
him work, you know he knows what he's doing!
So, if you, like many others, are a Harley
enthusiast and have grown weary with the prices at your local shop,
then ride on in to J & D Custom Cycles for an experience that
will leave you with a renewed joy at having found a good thing!!
